Have you ever been somewhere so beautiful, you wanted to take a picture of it? But as you take your phone or your camera out, you realize that there’s no way you could ever capture the landscape’s beauty in its entirety. It can be slightly heartbreaking to know none of your Instagram followers or Facebook friends will be able to know just how beautiful this place is, but it’s also the concept behind Japanese artist Maki Ohkojima’s gorgeous paintings. To accentuate this notion, Ohkojima lets her canvas art spill onto the walls, now becoming full murals. Ohkojima explains, “When drawing a picture, I always think that the picture I am drawing in that moment is merely one part of a larger world and narrative.”.
