Graffiti is a rather misunderstood art form, and is almost exclusively seen as the domain of urbanism. Most people can agree that ‘tagging’ (those crude and quick sprays of acronyms and gang names on alley walls) is often not very impressive, but there is something to be said of grandiose murals that improve a blank wall in the city.
Taking a unique twist on the matter however, is a talented pop culture artist going by the alias of ‘Oskunk’. Using traditional tagging text, he draws numerous pop culture icons. What’s even better is that the words that make up the image are relevant to each character that he draws. In his own unique way, Oskunk has taken the certain crudeness of tagging and elevated it to an art form in a very creative way.
