Therapy animals can be a great help to those who have suffered trauma in their lives. This is especially true for veterans. Conventional therapy can help, but so can cats and dogs that have been trained as therapy companions. Out in Lockwood Valley, California however, they’re using a different animal. Rescued Wolves.
The Warrior and Wolves program brings rescued wolves and wolf dogs together with veterans still suffering the effects of PTSD. It’s unconventional, but it seems to have helped many who have walked through the center’s doors. There is a connection and bond between them, and a theme of healing that’s a very powerful force indeed.
