Melting China by Livia Marin

BrokenThings and NomadPatterns are sculpture series by London-based Chilean artist Livia Marin. In them she employs fragments of everyday objects – cups, bowls, jars, pots and the like – to make a new series of objects that appear paradoxically as broken yet complete. Each piece of the series is unique and is staged somehow indeterminately between something that is about to collapse or is melting and something that has attained its definite form.
