Russian sculptor Sergei Bobkov’s specialty is creating wood work like nobody else’s. He claims, “It’s not too interesting to do what others can. To create something out of nothing in a completely new way is far more inspiring.” As you may suspect, the team at Marvelous agrees.
He starts his work by doing hours of research to better understand the animals he sculpts before beginning his accurate wooden imitations. Later, when he starts the physical work of the pieces, he soaks the chipped cedar into water. He then proceeds to spend up to 12 hours a day on a single sculpture, some taking months of rigorous work to finish. All in all, Bobkov has completed 15 incredible life-sized sculptures.
