This Man Turned Snow Into Flames

Brendan Schaffer is a staff member at the Fairview Lake YMCA camp. As an artist and environmentalist, he aims to create art that is inspired by the natural world. He teaches his campers all about eco-art and environmental education. He is most known for creating large-scale sculptures made out of snow or sand. He mixes water and food colouring in order to add colour to the snow. It took him four hours total to build the sculpture. He recently won first place at the Annual American Sand Sculpting Championship in Florida.
