Based in the mountainous European country of Switzerland, artistic duo Christian Rebecchi and Pablo Togni are the two brains behind NEVERCREW. The interestingly-named NEVERCREW is a street art collective that has spanned more than two decades and often manifests itself in the form of vast and surreal murals.
Though they are largely based in Switzerland, they have crafted pieces for public enjoyment in places from Grenoble, France to Manchester, England. Some of those are featured here. Though their work is beautiful, this intrepid duo hope that the pieces will provoke questions about some of the challenges and issues facing humanity.
Numerous themes and difficult subjects can be found in their work. Just a handful of highlighted global issues include climate change, immigration and refugee crises, and mankind’s ruthless exploitation of the natural world for its resources. Art is often meant to stir emotions and provoke certain avenues of thought, and there is rarely a better place for such things than on the streets you walk as you life your life.
