In this video, an artist recreates three famous portraits using an iron and steamer. He begins with Vermeer’s Girl With A Pearl Earring. He uses the iron to crease the folds he needs to illustrate the representation of the famous portrait. He also creates Van Gogh’s famous Self-Portrait, wherein Van Gogh has a bandaged ear and is smoking a pipe. His final portrait is that of Rembrandt’s Self-Portrait with beret and turned-up collar. The creations using simply and iron and a white sheet in this video are astonishing. Phillips also staged an exhibition to showcase this work.
