U-ram Choe is a Korean sculptor, specializing in kinetic art. U-ram’s parents are both sculptors and as a result he began exploring art at a young age, first working with clay, then later branching into kinetic art during his university schooling. Kinetic art can be created in any form or medium, so long as the piece contains movement discernible by the viewer or depends on motion for its effect. U-ram has created many pieces in this vein of work. Two of his most intricate are the Gold Instecta Lamp and the Silver Insecta Lamp. These pieces are embedded with CPUs, motors, and LEDs that are all functioning. When switched on, an opulent set of five wings gracefully flutters.
