Water Color-Like Portraits Made Entirely of Fabric

Tulle is a sheer fabric. It is often used in the design of dresses, ballet tutus, and other frilly clothing. It’s not exactly a material that comes to mind when you’re designing a portrait.

Unless, of course, your name is Benjamin Shine.

Shine has made a series of portraits of human faces using draped tulle only –

-and they’re incredible!

The entire series, entitled The Dance, is comprised of over 6,500 feet of tulle. His works are currently installed at the Canberra Centre in Canberra, Australia. Check out the rest of his works on Instagram!
